Copyright, Preprint, and Self Archiving Guidelines Principles Copyright, Archiving, and Permissions If authors choose to post their manuscript submissions on preprint servers, we request that they mention to which Annual Reviews series the manuscript has been submitted. After an article has been accepted for publication by Annual Reviews, any posting of the article should include the following acknowledgment and link: “Posted with permission from the Annual Review of _________________, Volume ___ ©_______ by Annual Reviews, http://www.annualreviews.org” Files (PDFs and illustrations) prepared and/or formatted by Annual Reviews may not be posted on preprint servers or on personal or institutional Web sites. We ask that authors post AR ePrint URLs, not PDFs; they should send AR ePrint URLs when colleagues request reprints. (Please see an explanation of AR ePrint URLs).
After publication by Annual Reviews, authors may use their articles, whole or in part, without revision or modification in print compilations or other print publications. They may post free links to their published AR articles (using ePrint URLs, as explained at the link above) on one personal and one institutional Web page. They may not post final chapter PDFs directly. For use of all or part of any material published by Annual Reviews by anyone other than the author, permission must be obtained from the Permissions Department of Annual Reviews via email (permissions@annualreviews.org), fax (650-855-9815), or letter.
